Content:

Shortly before the end of the Civil War three soldiers bury two billion gold dollars of the CSA. The coordinates and the location of the hideout are marked on three dollar coins. Now we see different parties chasing after these coins. First we have Alan Burton (Charles Southwood), who is notorious out of pocket and who gets one of the sought-after dollars by a dying man. Then there is the bigot bandido El Condor (Mirko Ellis), who has acquired the other two coins by murder. Finally the crook Hondo (Julian Mateos) ist strongly interested: He meets Alan in jail and saves his life for several times until they become partners. At the end the greed of all concerned avoids, that anyone can take the money.


The Gunslinger says:

This flick by Amendola is not really entertaining, but thanx to its surprising end it reaches hardly an average rating. The plot has problems to find its line and the lovestory is simply boring. Furthermore there are several unmotivated cuts inclusive resulting continuity problems. Exepting Julian Mateos, who is a passable rascal, the acting efforts are below average. Especially Charles Southwood, who reminds me to a cheapo edition of Richard Harrison, was obviously underprivileged as acting talents were distributed, if you know, what I mean. Really good is the title song “Where is my Fortune?” and the title theme, based on it, which supplies strings, organ and a discreet brass support. Some pluses the film collects sporadically by its atmosphere too.

  • El Condor’s bandidos raid a stagecoach and kill the unarmed passengers
  • The bandits tortue the owner of the second dollar and kill him and his wife after questioning has finished
  • Alan is tortured the chinese way ;-) to find out the whereabout of his dollar
  • Hondo and Alan “park” El Condor in the quicksand, to convince him to cough up his two coins

As the chance to earn lots of money fades, Alan turns increasingly to nice Juana (Alida Chelli): 3/10
