Content: blindTough Sergeant Bill Cormack (Fabio Testi), member of the Mounties, is getting alarmed as evil „Cariboo“ (Guido Mannari) escapes out of jail. „Cariboo“, once a friend of Cormack, has sweared revenge because the latter has arrested him because of murder and has married his former fiancee (Lynne Frederick). The gangster kidnaps Cormack’s little son Jimmy (Renato Cestiè) to lure the desperate father in a trap. But also „Cariboo’s“ former gang under leadership of sadistic Wolfe (Claudio Undari) is on the run, because only their ex-boss knows about the whereabout of the booty of a robbery. During the chase through the wintry landscape hostage and kidnapper build up a certain kind of friendship. Then little Jimmy falls sick heavily. But what for are there some Indians and sottish Doc Higgins (Lionel Stander)?
| The Gunslinger says: blindThrilling snow western, made really skilfully by multitalented Aristide Massacessi („Joe D’Amato“). The film keeps tension up to its end, and its story finally presents something Hitchcock perhaps would have called a „McGuffin“. Good actors and supply, a tighten plot and the great wintry nature enhance this film over the Spaghetti standard. Even if some purists don't see this flick as a SW ;-)
