Content:After the Civil War Phil Hamilton (Neno Zamperla) is heading for Yellowstone to find his fortune, whereas his brother Gary (Giuliano Gemma) returns back home to his wife Judy (Ida Galli). But life is hard and Gary is forced to follow his brother to find a job. This is offered him by rich McCory (Pierre Cressoy): He wants Gary to kill the bandit „Blackeye“. Too late Gary realizes, that „Blackeye“ is his brother and not a bandit at all. Phil dies, but Gary survives thanks to a silver dollar in his pocket. He joins a gang of bandids, controlled by McCory, whichs makes some money by raiding the local farmers, until they sell their land for a really cheap price. From now on there’s a lot of work to do for him.
| The Gunslinger says: Entertaining, but average flick „american style“, made by skilled Giorgio Ferroni in 1965. Good actors: Even Gemma, who is called „Gary“ like in his two following Ferroni-western, unfortunately wears a big beard during the first half of the film. And again Ferroni lets him undergo heavy mistreatments. Nice score by Gianni Ferrio with a measured trumpet theme.
| Rating: $$$
