Content:

Paul Martin (Piero Lulli) and his wife Lisa (Pascale Petit) detect a rich goldmine. But because Paul isn’t able to handle with dynamite to exploit the bonanza, he gets halfly buried under a mass of stones. Lisa searchs for help and arrives in the deserted village Nido de Aguila, a place, where one understands the word “money” in every language. A place, where Joe Collins chats with his glass of whisky every day and every night. Joe can present a steep career, which led him from a high decorated army officer to a gunrunner, searched by warrant. But Joe decides to help Lisa and recruits a little army: a bunch of greedy cutthroats like pimps, gunslingers and a strange priest. Mission fails, because mexican bandits just have killed Paul and stole the whole gold. The group returns to Nido and tries to regain the gold from the Mexicanos.

The Gunslinger says:

Quite a weak oeuvre made by talented Carnimeo in 1968. Boring story, but capable acting by US actor Jeff Hunter, who died a year later, and the rest of the staff. Women are fair game, but, folx, that’s Spaghetti style, and Pascale Petit and Daniela Giordana are really worth looking at. This doesn’t leave one of my favorite rogues, Nello Pazzaffini unaffected too, so Jeffrey has to take him out of the game. Another plus of the film is the good Ferrio-score. Hope, the english synchronisation is better than the german one.
