The lead spreading thugs Fred (Antonio de Teffè) and Johnny (Mark Damon) act as efficient bountyhunters in the West. Allthough they don’t take the law sooo serious for themselves, if it’s i.e. necessary to pull a fast one on a corrupt sheriff.sheriff (Piero Lulli). But their trick to earn some money fails, and Fred and Johnny land behind swedish bars. Thanks to the surprising engagement of rich Rogers,Rogers (Luis Induni), a great land owner, they get free again. Rogers augments his property continuously with the little help of some hired bandits, killling the real owners. The little rascal doesn’t’ want to be disturbed in his business by Fred and Johnny, so he hopes that the two sharks gonna leave town after their liberation. But these won’t, because they scent some money to earn by this situation. So they stay in town, roughing up some rabble to cash the bounty and spoiling Roger’s plans. The citizens are quite amused and nominate Fred sheriff. Now Rogers is fed up to the back teeth and starts his final counterstrike.

The Casketnail says:

Despite of the good preconditions Marchent once again isn’t able to serve a good pasta-dish. Cast and camerawork are good, as well as the score by Ortolani, but the staging is poor. Well, shoot-outs, stunts and the typical humour are “state of the art”, but the realization is more than goody two-shoes. The story contains a completely redundant subplot – Roger’s wife thinks, that Johnny is their repudiated son – which is solved really ridiculous. At least we see a guffawing and cheerful de Teffè, what is quite rare, folx. Best actor to me in this flick is Mark Damon, who was great already in “Ringo and his golden Pistol”. Altogether: good ingredients in a quite dull dish.

There’s nothing dainty about Roger’s men, who rob the land without leaving any witness

Luv':

1/10 (Johnny has a short love affair with a farmer’s daughter, a really short love-affair ended by death, if you know, what I mean)
