Butch Cassidy (Jack Betts) and his gang take a trip to a gravel pit, situated nearby Rome. But good heavens: The boys forgot their fare, horses and munition in the bus. Fortunately they meet the Carson gang, making a sightseeing-tour in a stream bed, and bump them all off. Because of the sudden wealth, guide Cassidy comes in conflict with his second man Ironhead (Gordon Mitchell): They play poker for leadership and booty. Ironhead, who is as dimwitted as hell, looses game, and our tourist party splits up. Further on Cassidy works as a veterinary, whereas Ironhead continues raiding banks. In the meanwhile Macho Callahan (Giovani Scarciofolo), last survivor of the Carson gang, has regained his fitness after chopping lots of wood. He wins a .45 in a “throwing-horseshoes-competition” and – mediated by his new drinking companion O’Sullivan (Benito Pacifico) - gets signed on by Ironhead. The latter wants to take revenge on Cassidy for the lost pokermatch. Showdown starts in a deserted ghost-town.

Va bene! Papa Trash in top-form again: The outrageous story is “supported” by a confused cut and really cheap scenery, which kill every atmosphere. There’s also the fact, that there are many mistakes in the decors, i.e. the word “whisky” is transformed to “whiskie”. To say nothing of the poor “gravel-pit-decidous-forest-ambience”, typical for Fidani, and the lousy acting efforts. I don’t understand, why passable actors, like Jack Betts, stagger on through flicks like this for much more than one time. It’s the same with Coriolano Gori, who contributes once again a quite nice score, which features guitars, violins, trumpets and vibrapohone.

Klaus Kinski is featured in a really small role as reverend Cotton. In his best scene he wanna eat an apple, but bites off a full half at once. It requires great acting and strong jaws to deal with this challenge. Respect!
