blindAfter bandits have ripped a horse trail, the brothers Mike (Steeve Reeves) and Roy Sturges (Giovanni Ivan Scratuglia) set off to bring the stolen horses back home. Unfortunately the operation isn't successful: The boys are caught in the near of a railway line, after some desperados had attacked the train and stolen 80k dollars.
Because the law in the shape of Sheriff Freeman (Mimmo Palmara) cooperates with the bandidos, the brothers gain free tickets for the public recreation home in Yuma. There you can spend your time with e.g. digging stones and the quite special “jokes” of the sadistic personel under leadership of low-down Bill Savage (Nello Pazzafini). Roy dies soon after start of these holidays, whereas Mike escapes later on during a camp revolt. He slaps through home, where he finds the ranch ruined and his mother death.
Revenge is, what is left to do: Revenge for Yuma, what means revenge against his old mate Marlon Mayer, who in fact has robbed the train, what was observed by Mike, and naturally against Sheriff Freeman. It’s not as that simple, because Freeman can chase the fugitive officially with a big array … covered by the law.

The Gunslinger says:

blindThis sole contribution by full-time cameraman Camillo Bazzoni is one of the secret pearls outta the second row: a little bit forgotten, a bit battered and dusty, outshined by the genre’s masterpieces, but with its own qualities.
Outstanding plus of this flick to me is its visual appearance. It’s not only Bazzoni, who’s got the trained view of the cameraman: his director of photography isn’t a dark horse too. So Enzo Barboni once again makes a first class job with many special camera angles and a highly versatile camera especially in the action scenes. Furthermore we have quite atmospheric shots, i.e. as the camera shows us the ruined Sturges estate in long shots and close-ups.
Bazzoni can bank on his ensemble: Up to the featured parts proved actors contribute to the success of the film. Even shortest appearances are filled quite prominently: I don’t mean Nello Pazzafini, who is the great *******. But i.e. Aldo Sambrell, Bruno Corazzari, Franco Fantasia and Rosalba Neri pass some successful whistle stops. In comparison with their distinguished achievements the performance by Steve Reeves to me pales a bit.
Apart from that and the lousy gunplay, there’s not much to complain, folx: some „nice“ brutes and a high bodycount. The score by Carlos Savina with its guitars, trumpets and orchester, dominated by horns is quite nice. The main theme supplies choirs and whistling phrases.
